Shattered Mirror

So far today, I've started writing FOUR fics. FOUR. Yet another ill-advised Keppler/Greg CSI romp, a distressingly cracky Lennox/Epps/Optimus, an I don't even KNOW Lennox/Optimus, and something that should be Victor/Remy dubcon but is more like Victor/Remy-is-dangerously-self-destructive.

I haven't gotten further than 600 words on any of them.

And now I am seriously considering a Tony/McManus brothers, because a) he has guns and they like guns, b) they are twins and he likes twins, and c) Tony apparently really does want to screw everything that breathes, and some things that don't (I'm lookin' at you, Prime).

WHAT AM I DOING.

Yuletide fic: written and uploaded. Yesterday, even!

Christmas cards: f...finally sent? With little prayers over them that they might ACTUALLY get there by Christmas.

Whew. I dunno what it is this Christmas. I'm just kinda discombobulated and constantly not knowing what day it is or what I need to do and plagued by this persistent feeling that I'm forgetting something. Part of it is probably that I'm not taking a big chunk of time off, like I usually do around Christmas. Can't, this year, because I've got an experiment going that requires kinda constant monitoring. So, I've got to go into the lab for about an hour every day, even if I just turn around and go home after that. Which I might do, for some of the middle of the week between Christmas and New Year's. I really need a vacation. Like really. My brain is too full. Obviously this needs to be fixed by lazing about.

Also, if my lovely FF6 stalker Roxana is reading this, I have not forgotten about our deal! I just...suck, obviously. I have Setzer and Edgar all ready to roll up their sleeves and get down and dirty in the Falcon, and I just need to clear out the brainspace and find the spare time to concentrate on them. I wanted to have something written for Christmas, but since that is...this week!...um...possibly not. But I still have them front and center on my mental list of things to do. They got bumped for the past month or so by my Yuletide fic, but now I'm ready to haul them out of the mental hottub and put them to work again, as soon as I can find two minutes to rub together. ;P

Shotgun post!

First of all, it kinda snowed a bit here. I WAS going to go into work for a teeny bit yesterday, but I stood out there for 35 minutes, while two busses went the opposite direction and none came my way. I figured that it was a sign from the gods and went back home. Where I've spent the weekend playing Plants vs. Zombies (now half-price! Popcap's having a half-price sale, so if you've ever wanted Plants vs. Zombies--and it is incredibly cute and fun and replayable--or Zuma or any of their other games, now's the time to get them), making Ronnie's Cure-All Chocolate Loaf Cake, trying to work on my Yuletide story, taking pictures of snow, and generally not doing a whole lot!

Today has mostly been occupied by reading Ao no Exorcist. New manga! I highly recommend it!

Premise! - Twin brothers + demons + exorcist school + characters with hidden loyalties = fun!
It's a school-based story, eventually, but it's been very character-based in the first half-dozen chapters or so. I found the first chapter to be pretty emotionally intense, really. Kinda gory, with special powers and of course the main character has an uber-powerful ace in the hole, but his brother isn't as weak as he seems at first, either. They've done a nice job of breaking the mold just a bit on the usual character stereotypes, and, like usual, the side characters (especially the school officials and teachers) are some of the more interesting personalities. If you liked D.Gray-Man or Soul Eater (granted, two things I haven't kept up with, but they leapt to mind when I read this), you might like this?

...oh man, I really, really need to finish my Yuletide story. ;_;

This is not drawing. This is also not laundry. Today was decompression time though, so laundry has been pushed to tomorrow. In the process of compiling this I realised the creative niche that vidding fills for me, which is being able to sort all my squeeful thoughts and say here are all the things I love about ____. With music attached. I always feel slightly weird about vidding since I don't approach it with any intention to learn the finer details of editing or crafting a strong visual narrative, but coming to understand why I vid makes me feel more comfortable sharing what I've made.

I also feel like all the classic and contemporary big band/crooners I've been listening to while working in the lab this semester was just preparing me to fall in love with this show. Also, OT3 much? Purr.

Tomorrow I am going to celebrate by doing laundry. Which doesn't seem exciting, but I am down to the Clothes I Never Wear. Which is also a good indication of what needs to go in the donate pile.

ALSO I AM GOING TO DRAW. My god, am I going to draw. Later when I am a little less DONESQUEE, I will post some shots of my projects. I am pretty damn happy with them.

I would sadface, but I kinda like what happened here instead, and Daddy Prime will never die (so I'll write that later). Today is a bracket day! :3

Betaed twice (thankies!), and still edited to hell and back. I figure I should try to improve a little every time I write something, drabble or epic, but omg. SO HARD SOMETIMES. Working on original stuffs has really made me aware of things I used to plod blissfully on by. On the one hand, yey, but on the other, bitchbitchwhine.

Evil twin has been flailing about White Collar, so last night I sat down to watch the pilot. Three episodes later, I am a flaily happy mess, aaaah, omg, SO CUTE. ALL OF THEM. AWESOME. Like, surprisingly well-adjusted while doing awesome things, and likable, and I am rapidly developing a m/f/m ship, I so am!

Last night I picked up pasta for dinner from the cafe around the corner, and instead of working on our finals, J and I watched 5 episodes of White Collar.

In our defense, we were both too exhausted from work to do anything productive.

Also in our defense, we are addicted.

We will be saving the last ep for /after/ finals. I... I'm probably going to need icons. :x

It seems to me that when you actually manage to finish a story (and 'finish' here is going to mean 'I can't work on this fucking thing one minute more'), it should title itself. Self-titling stories, that's what I want.

And then, THE WORLD. MWAHA.

Or just a title, really. I'd be okay with that.

Doodled today because my renders in mental ray were choking my computer and taking forever.

I'm ridiculously behind on my lighting final. I'd been struggling with a specific hurdle, and I got past that this last weekend, but since I was working so hard on figuring out wtf my problem was in only that one area, I'm now behind on all the other parts. Oops. I console myself with the fact that it's not part of my major, I just wanted to know how to do it and now I do, so I'm good so long as I pass.

My modeling finals, while running into a few issues that are mostly hardware related are going fairly peachy. I'm not going to get them as polished as I'd like, but considering that I was spreading my time between four classes and work, I'm pretty damn happy with what I've come up with.

Wednesday... zomg. Wednesday and I'll be done for six weeks with mostly online classes in the upcoming semester. I might be working full time, but omg that I can handle. This semester has been one long steady crush of too much to freaking do. I'm mostly caught up on all my CSI TV at least (we shall not speak of SPN). J and I are one episode of Fringe behind, but we might be able to sit down for that tonight.

And now I have sipped at my tea and my fingers are warm and I should get back to rendering. Cue flaily arms.

I have this sudden urge to write Breath of Fire porn. Whut.
